i have an eames lounge chair how do I find the year and authenticity of it?
The Eames Lounge Chair and ottoman, correctly titled Eames Lounge (670) and Ottoman (671) were released in 1956 after years of development by designers Charles and Ray Eames for the Herman Miller furniture company. It was the first chair the Eames designed for a high-end market. These furnishings are made of molded plywood and leather. Examples of these furnishings are part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art.
To find age, check each wood veneer, some models have a manufactured date stamped. If wood veneer is made of Rosewood, then it is definitely made before 1981. Other than that, its hard to find exact date of creation. the best is to ask Herman Miller. To find authenticity, check the bottom of chair and ottoman. If it is an original Herman Miller lounge chair, it should have a metal circle plate with H logo at the center with 'Designed by Charles Eames' around it. It also should have a patent sticker. Some of later models have a black rectangle shape sticker says 'herman miller'. The current model have a silver sticker with 'herman miller' on it.

There are chairs that are old fashioned looking, and there are chairs that have relatively long arms, as you depicted in your sketch, but for an old-fashioned looking chair with arms that long, some modifications may have to be made if you purchase a ready-made one from any of the online stores you search through. There are some that may be worth looking into, like this traditional looking button armchair with red leather upholstery and leather padded arm rests. You can have a local furniture maker alter the seat’s arms to get these to be as long as you want them to be, and to have them pad these with the same colored leather as the seat, to give you what you want.
