Question:

Exhaust system for VW 1.8T?

I have a 2004 VW GTI with the 1.8T in it.It has a catless downpipe which makes it sound nice and throaty on startup, but I‘m looking for more from it. I used to have a VR6 and it sounded excellent, and I really miss the exhaust note.Anyone have experience with putting an exhaust on the 1.8T? I want something that sounds as deep and gurgle-y as possible. Gracias.

Answer:

Are you going car camping or hiking into a campground? I have a different list for each one.
Food beer toilet paper, and sleeping bag
-You'll need bag chairs for everyone around the campfire. -A flashlight for everyone. -A lantern for the picnic table. battery operated is fine, but for really good light, get a Coleman mantle lantern. -Take a first aid kit with Benedryl and sting stop, bandages, maxi pad for serious wound pressure (also good for pouring cold water on and placing on back of neck for heat exhaustion), aloe, little container of powdered milk to rehydrate in case a tooth is lost (put tooth in and take to dentist), tweezers and needle, antibiotic ointment, Q-tips, hydrogen peroxide, medical tape for putting on bandages and taping fingers together in case of sprain or break, space blanket in case of shock. -commercial fire starters, long lighter, tiny tinder (dryer lint, ornamental grass heads, little twigs, steel wool) bigger stuff, logs. Make a log cabin with bigger stuff on outside, and tinder pile in center. Light it. Blow on it from ground level. Get it going. Add larger stuff until big stuff catches. -Cooler to keep food fresh and animals out. Google camp food ideas. You'll need hot dog skewers, pie irons, maybe a dutch oven (camping style, with feet and a lid with a lip), camp stove. Whatever you like. There are so many possibilities. -book for bedtime! -if camping with kids where there are no toilets, I suggest getting one of those handicap toilets, and a bunch of disposable camping toilet bags. Place toilet in a separate enclosure of some kind. Be creative. Pack out all your garbage.tied up nicely in bags. For peeing, let people go behind a tree.little boys really get a kick out of this, of course. You could have everyone dig a little hole each time with a trowel, and bury it afterwards. Use biodegradable tp.
A good system is not just louder. You can do that with flared tips at the end. A good system is tuned in length to be equal for all cylinders, smooth, the right length for an appropriate harmonic, and not too restrictive.
