Question:

Has anyone joined the National Home Gardening Club?

Has anyone joined the Life Membership with NHGC? I am wondering if it is worth it.

Answer:

I also joined 2010 and have not received anything from them in a very long time. (3-4 yrs). I am a premier member got a few tools to try and even gave review. Now trying to get info for my new yard. Can t get there from here. My member # is 70381064. My question is wtf did I pay for. Please advice where we can find answers or product. Will be going back to Beck. Have 3/4 acre to landscape. Land is ready to start getting idea of planting. Want to have all my ducks in a row for a beautiful yard I have waited for, for 40 years.
I became a Life Member in July of 1997 and I really enjoyed receiving the magazine every month, entering the contests the whole thing. i was glad I joined. My husband got sick and I didn t even pay any attention to when I stopped receiving my magazine. My husband died in July of 2010. I moved from Mayfield Ky. to Georgetown Ky. and to this day I still have not received my magazine. I had not received it for awhile before my husband died but I was to upset at the time to do anything about it. When I moved to Georgetown, had my open heart surgery, spent a month in rehab. of course I didn t think about it. I just found my Life Member card and remembered I am a life member but I don t get any of the benifets I was promised. To me that is called fraud. I would like to start to receive my benifits or my money back from paying my Life Member charge. Mymembe number is 70165191. My name is CHRISTINE EDWARDS. Address is 110 Widgeon Ct, Georgetown, Ky. 40324. I would appreciate it if I could have a working phone number. The number on my card does not work, The number is no longer in service. Please take care of this matter right away. I could use the money.
I have, and honestly, no it is not worth it to me. Yes, I get a free magazine, 6 issues a year but I have not done any more product testing since I joined 2 yrs. ago. I have recently purchased several items from them and they have fallen short of my expectations. Maybe I just got a few bad ones and the rest is great, we shall see. The amount of their dues for the life time member does pay for the magazine you will receive for the duration of the life time membership and it is wonderful. There is a seed swapping section for members also in the magazine. And they do have many great gardening books and they are very good also. To me, it seems a bit pricey. You will have to way the good with the bad and make your decision of whether or not to join. Good luck with your decision.
