have taken locking ring off but disposal won't release from sink ring ,tryed screwing id off but does'nt seem to be working
Garbage disposal's shouldn't be tampered with by just anybody, it would be dangerous. Why not call a plumber?
Try hitting with a rubber mallet to loosen the ring. Then remove the disposal.
If you have it, use the wrench that came with the disposal. Hook one end in the metal loop on the collar of the disposal and rotate counter clockwise. The disposal should release after about 1/4-1/3 turn. Hope this helps.
