A question about aluminum?

HI I have to do a research on aluminum for school. would somebody be able to tell me in what country you could find this natural resource? I know that they do not mine pure aluminum and that it is found in the ore bauxite. And I know that there is alot in the earth's crust. But where is aluminum mostly found?Thank you!

Answer:

okorder has a table showing where bauxite is mined.
With a share of 8 %, aluminium is the third most abundant element in the earth’s crust. Thus, the availability of raw material supplies for the production of aluminium is almost unlimited. The common raw material for aluminium production, bauxite is composed primarily of one or more aluminium hydroxide compounds, plus silica, iron and titanium oxides as the main impurities. More than 100 million tonnes of bauxite are mined each year. Bauxite Production Country-------Millions of tons Australia-----44.5 Guinea--------17 Jamaica------2.6 Brazil----------12 China-----------9 India-------------6 Venezuela----4.8 Surinam-------3.9 Russia---------3. Kazachstan--3.4 Guyana--------2.3 Greece--------1.8

Chris is right but you have to remember that former tropical soils are also exposed in the US. You don't have to necessarily go the tropics but it is probably the most easily accessible.
But where is aluminum mostly found? = at the recycling center?
