hmmIf you put all of the powder into the tank of sugar water, the aluminum and steel will sink because their density is greater than that of the solution, while the plastic and glass will floatYou can skim those two off the top, and put them in the water (density ~1g/cm3), where the plastic will float and the glass will sinkAs far as the steel and aluminum, after you scoop those out of the sugar water tank, you can put the powder on the conveyor belt and the electromagnets will pick up the steel, leaving the aluminum on the belt.
