Answer:

Faith is a cop-out. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can’t be taken on its own merits.Dan Barker, Losing Faith in Faith, 1992 I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't. Jules Renard (1864 - 1910)
Hi Sharon, Kicking you out of the lab was probably a bit harsh, but the most important thing to come out of this episode is the consequences of not adhering to safety rules. He did this to teach you a lesson you won't forget in a hurry, and also make an example to others as to what will happen if the rules are broken. A chem lab is a dangerous place, and safety is important. It's nothing personal. In form 5, the chem teacher once held a lab outside, because he felt that it was too dangerous to do inside. We were working with 20M Sulfuric acid, at the time. I had a pipette of 20M sulfuric acid, and I unintentionally waved it in front of the teacher. He wasn't impressed, and he very quickly let me know about it. In hindsight, I was careless, and I deserved to be told off. However I now have a greater respect for safety, especially when dealing with chemicals This teacher was a legend, and I did not respect him any less for telling me off.. I'd learn a lesson from this episode, and move on. Life's to short to worry about things you can't change.
