Don't keep food in or around the tent. Do not sleep in clothing that you wore while cooking or eating. You'll be fine. If the bear did come around, I don't think it would be interested in you at all. It would probably go straight to the garbage cans or bowls of pet food on peoples porches. If you do encounter the bear, don't run, don't make any sudden movements, and dont look into its eyes. Back away slowly. If your in the tent and it comes around, don't freak out, just stay calm, it will just sniff you out and go away.
You can easily tell the difference between a meteor and a satellite by its speed. Meteors move very quickly; they're usually gone in a second or less. Satellites move more slowly, taking several minutes to cross the sky. There are many different satellite orbits, so they appear to move in many different directions.
