The additive identity is the matrix that you can add to any matrix without changing it. This will always be the appropriate sized matrix (in this case, 2x4) where every entry is 0.
The additive identity in normal addition is just 0. (i.e. it's the number p such that x + p x.) In matrix addition, the additive identity is just a matrix full of 0s, so in this case a 2x4 matrix full of 0s. :)
