Question:

Are my tires safe to drive on?

I slammed the brakes going 60 to avoid a wreck. The tires are a month old, and the brake caused little spots on the front 2 tires. When i drive its a little bit bumpy but nothing too crazy. Do you think these tires are safe to drive on??

Answer:

They should be fine, but just in case cross-rotate them to the back of the car
Tire stores can shave the tires down to eliminate the spots. They often have to do it when replacing less than a full set of tires on AWD vehicles.
That's abs for ya. But without abs you woulda completely sanded down one section of tire. I know a lot of people would disagree and that's fine but the bumps should smooth out after a few weeks of driving. They are not damaged only unevenly worn. You could check with the place you got em at if you have any kind of warranty. And don't feel bad, I've driven on some really awful tires. Like beyond showing wire.
