Know how to use them properly and that they are in locations where you can get at them without the danger of things falling into them, or that they are balanced on something and could fall. Keep your knives as sharp as possible. More knife cuts in the kitchen ar made with blunt knives as they will slip from where you want to cut. Dune
Stay back from the flame. Don't wear dangling clothes that will get into heat and food. Stir slowly as to not splash hot foods. Use pot holders on hot pans. Be sure to turn off the heating elements when done. Use timers to know when foods get done cooking. Do not leave the cooking area while something is cooking. Have a fire extinguisher within reach of the stove. Keep small children away from the stove. Turn all pot handles inward.'
