Pain will differ from person to person so no one can really answer that. My advice is to sleep with your arm bent under your head so your ear is in that little whole and nothing can bother it. Also, avoid dying your hair for the next two months and be care when putting on sweaters, shirts, brushing hair, et cetera. Infection is a problem if you keep it clean but irritation is because every time you bump on side, you bump the other as well. Good luck!
