DONT get the amd fx 8120. they are not made for gaming. get the intel core i5, much better for your money, and the benchmarks show that they beat the bulldozer by alot
Right, most people will tell you the i5-2500k, personally i don't agree(as i have the fx-8120 and love it). fx has 8 cores 2500k has 4 cores both have 8 threads due to the 2500k has hyper threading(although the 4 hyper threaded cores only really adds up to 1 full core...) both have relatively easy overclocking (although the 8120 is very very very easy) Personally i would recommend the FX-8120 as it is altogether a cheaper platform(motherboard and processor) than the i5-2500K and to be honest that puts the FX-8120 competing with the 2400 or worse, making the bulldozer great in comparison. If you don't mind spending more then the i5-2500K is great for gaming currently, but once games start to utilize more cores the FX-8120 will begin to push its weight. Also Microsoft have recently launched a 'hotfix' for the bulldozer which has increased its performance between 15-30%. One person who has it managed to get a cinebench result of 7.64 which, compared to the origional score of 5.64, is very good. Hope i have helped !!!!! :P
