Question:

Is it safe to put a solid cabin on a tiny fishing power-boat?

I'm commuting across a harbour with a 3-meter aluminum boat every day, and I am considering to build a cozy, fully enclosed structure onto it to protect me from the elements and the engine noiseTrouble is, I've constructed this in CAD, and it looks pretty top-heavyBut I don't think it is, as it's going to be all aluminum and PVC windowsI'm only worried about stability when the wind comes from the side - is this too small a boat to put a cabin onto? Thanks.

Answer:

I would because I knew I was going home where I would be warm and where there would be something in the cupboard or freezer that I could make to provide me with the needed food for the next few days.
No because I never get that close to being pennilessI have this strange thing called a budget, and I make sure all my money is accounted for and I don't spend what I don't need to spend - so there's always money in the bankI am not rich by any stretch of the imagination, and I can't afford to drive a beemer - but then, I don't NEED a beemer when cheaper transportation is availableWhat I do for the homeless is donate a small amount of my money each month to an organization like the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home for Children, the American Legion National Emergency Fund or the Salvation ArmyThey are much much better than I at determining where the needs are and how to help meet those needs.
Consider making the enclosure out of canvas to keep down on weightAluminum tubing or even PVC pipe might be just fine and light enough - PVC windows? Like clear vinyl - should be ok - not sure how well they clean up in regards to scratches and all.
The best way to help poor people is to not be one yourself. So I'd have to say no.I would direct them to a shelter or soup kitchen instead.
No, but I might take that $5 and buy them some food and water or a gift certificate for a meal at McDonalds or something.
