Question:

Is it safe to weld a motorcycle with the carbs still on it?

I am going to need to weld my Frame tomorrow. The part I need to weld is right above the carbs. The carbs do have gas in them. I have a welding fireproof blanket I am planning on putting over the carbs in case sparks are to hit them. I know the best solution is to take the carbs off but I am not a mechanic. Only a welder. I do not know how to take them off and I for sure wont get them back on. So my only option is to weld over them. Gas tank and battery will come off as well. Welding will be done outdoors.Any suggestions on this would be great. Thanks

Answer:

You hit the nail on the head. Pay should be Performance based.
my beef with unions is at the store. it used to be made in Japan was synonymous with poor workmanship, today it's made in America and the union label, since not doing quality work will not only be allowed, but actively protected
used to be a teamster That sort of explains that you either quit for a non-union job where you might not get a raise at all and are subject to being pushed into lower paying routes or you were fired for being a chronic whiner. If it wasn't for the Teamster Union you wouldn't be getting as much pay now nor half the benefits. Union or not, those who own the company know who produces and who doesn't. When things slow down, those who contribute the most are kept and those who are not dependable are let go. Companies with unions only negotiated once every 3 years or so. They are not bothered with whiners coming in every week asking for raises. It isn't the unions fault that the company hired a parasite and the company had 90 days to get rid of them. The company can also dicipline any employee for poor work habits. Enough of them and they can be fired. No union is going to go to bat for a poor employee. It brings everyone down. You thought you should get more because someone else wasn't earning their pay. Neither the company nor the union can change the pay scale once it is agree upon. So they can't pay you more if they wanted to. Better keep an eye over your shoulder, someone may be doing better than you and you are on the bubble.
If the fire has grease in it, the water will only spread the fire and not put it out. Do not use water.Turn off the oven before doing anything. Sometimes a small fire will go out on its own if the door remains closed. Baking soda is a good to smother the fire.
just like socialism, your only requirement is your presence, which means no matter what you do you will NEVER have the chance to improve your lifeSO WHY BOTHER?
