Question:

Is Leg Press a good way to build leg strength?

Is the Leg press a good way to build leg strength, as an Offensive lineman would need? Or is squat better?

Answer:

Squats are way better as they use a lot more muscles than leg press. By doing this you will be able to get a lot more strenght than doing leg press because your body will release a lot more of growth hormone and testosterone. The best exercises to build leg strenght are free weight compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts and lunges. If you need any help just msg me!
The Leg Press is for your quads. The squat is for you quads and glutes. If you want to build leg strength, you need to work on more than just the leg press and the squats. Do leg curls for your hamstrings, calf raises for your calves.
squats are good especially if you're at home. but the leg press is prob better b/c that adds weight. also lungs help! if it's too easy and you don't feel like they're working (do at least 25 before you determine this, and maybe wait a day to see how sore you are :) ) add 5 lb's in each hand and do the lungs that way. makes a big difference if you're needing just a little more. (you can lessen or increase the weight as needed/wanted) good luck
Squats work every muscle in your body, from your lats and upper back, all the way down through your hips and thighs. Quite simply, this one lift will recruit and develop your entire body. Maybe even more importantly, it will teach your body to work as a well-oiled, functional unit. When training, I tend to avoid the leg press machine. Instead, try front/back squats, dead lifts and Bulgarian split squats.
Leg Press, Leg curl from the laying down on your stomach position; squats; Leg curl from a sitting position; leg up working out the calves; and enough stretching of your lower limbs to were you are comfortable with. Start out slow with just a little weight and build from there, lots of reps and set with little weight, then progress to higher weights and lower reps. Good luck my brother in football I wish you luck in your quest
