Question:

my friend has a lincoln continental, in the air suspension will not raise. Any ideas/?

he changed the rear left strut, then the system blew up to max capacity and would not go down. We managed to release the pressure by removing the valve in the air bag, now it will not blow up,

Answer:

EAch strut has a sensor attached to the computer that tells it where the body is. They need to be tested to see if they are working. Next, try a new filter on the compresser, these foul out and will stop the suspension from working. Did you turn the switch in the trunk back on? Did the system fuse blow out? Get the manual and run the door switch check.
If you can get the jack out from under the car. The suspension should level it self off in a few minutes, after the key is turned on. The compressor will pump up the rear bags in a few minutes or so. If the rear doesn't pump up after a few minutes, turn the key off wait a few minute and then turn it back on.
Is the air compressor running? Are there any leaks in the bags? good luck.
Jack it back up and slide the air bag back into place.
