I always find myself using plastic (because its more convenient) but Paper Owns IMO.
Paper or plastic what ? If you mean grocery bags, I prefer plastic as I re-use them to line my kitchen trash basket. If you are asking about credit cards or cash, I use plastic as I get a 1% rebate.
Plastic. They are a) more convenient b) despite common belief, less damaging to the environment than paper with it's more expensive and damaging processing and vastly increased transportation costs and enviro footprint thingy . The greatest threat to the environment is poverty and the misguided belief that convenience must be sacrificed in the name of being eco-friendly I try to do reusable, but I always forget.
paper is better for the economy but is more difficult to bag in than plastic is. Plastic can't hold as much groceries as paper can but is a lot easier to hold than paper is because it has the handles on it. So all in all there ups and downs to using both plastic and paper
