Question:

Preforming Arts Schools in Japan?

I am in the 11th grade and I am looking to finish high school in japan (personal reasons). However, I am a vocal major at my high school in Kentucky, and I sing classical and opera music. I am looking for a high school in japan that has a program for musical talents. All, I need is an audition and I know I can get in! So, if anyone has any information on any schools that have what i'm looking for, that would be helpful. Thank you!

Answer:

You won't be able to attend school in Japan unless your family are moving there. Do you speak Japanese? They only teach in Japanese.
I don't think there's any way you can get into a foreign high school without being an exchange student. Sorry! However, there are plenty of performing art trade/vocational schools in Japan for after you graduate (entrance qualifications usually vary by school). As a place to start, you can try looking on the website QtoJapon - it's a database for foreign students attempting to go to school in Japan it's pretty accurate. Also, if you have ANY honest intention of moving to Japan, you need to begin learning Japanese. Immediately.
You can't move to Japan at your age unless your parents move there with you. You are not allowed to have any visa.
