Question:

Socrates, Ghandi, Julius Caeser, Jesus, and Siegmind Froid are locked in a room for a week with only 4 chairs?

One chair is a $2,000 massaging. One chair is a king's throne. One chair is a simple wooden chairOne chair is the electric chair. There is enough for and water to last them for 6 days the other then that the room is empty. What will happen?

Answer:

None are concerned about the state of the food and water supply, 6 days worth is enough for seven in the estimation of each of them. Caesar calculates that Ghandi can live on hallf rations and figures Jesus will probably share so theres plenty. Socrates calculates that he can survive the seventh day on pure will. Ghandi figures he can manage all seven on not much more than a days ration so there is plenty, and Jesus knows that all of the five men can do that so he's not worried either. The chairs: Ghandi will see that there is five men and three seating chairs and since he actually likes the floor for a seat, he will use that instead. Jesus will join him, he doesn't care for chairs but he can tell he will enjoy the company and conversation of Ghandi. Socrates will at first choose the wooden chair, but soon after observing the great teachers that Jesus and Ghandi are he would find himself uncomfortable with looking down on them and join them on the floor. Julius Caesar would instantly claim the throne, and Freud in an overt demonstration of his well demarcated inhibitions, would choose the massaging chair. Paying no attention to the three men seated on the floor, Freud would then go about seeing how easy it would be to convince the affected Caesar to sit in the electric chair, he will probably succeed before the 6 days are over.
Ghandi can chill in the other room because he sits Indian style anyway. Ceasar takes the throne. Socrates takes the wooden chair. Froid uses the chair for studies and Jesus isn't afraid to die in the electric chair.
Socrates gets the electric chair-good for swotting Attica's Gat-Flys. (As it turned out there was no electricity in the room and Freud later became quit neurotic about this fact.) Gandhi gets the wooden chair. It seemed to be that eight fold road betwixt the throne and and the death seat. Caesar gets the throne, actually Freud went for it but that Caesar had the Gaul to push him out of the way and take it from him. Old Sigmund got the massaging chair, it was leather and he often lamented that it was not a sofa. After all the guy was in desperate need of a shrink. At this point Jesus seeing that he was given no place with neither Jew nor Gentile alike was caugth up unto Heaven where he sat down in a thrown on the right hand of his Father for his Kingdom is not of this world. But before he ascended he said to the four: Ye have six days, be sure that ye enter into my Sabbath lest ye die in your sins. The room is a closed circuit and it is the world, the food and water (Means of life.) are finite. To him that has ears let him hear.
Ghandi and Jesus will sit cross legged on the floor discussing religion, Julius Caeser will grab the throne, Freud will take the wooden chair and socrates will take the massaging one and the electric chair will remain empty. Jesus and ghandi will give the food to the others and fast praying for peace and for the others to be released.
While Caesar and Jesus dispute over the throne, Froid sits quietly on it. Caesar tries to find allies in Socrates and Ghandi offering the massaging chair as reward. Socrates finds that immoral, requesting more respect and intelectual leadership, Gandhi seconds him. Caesar breaks the massaging chair with the wooden one and tries to allie with Jesus to put Froid on the electric one. Left alone, Caesar stabs Froid with remainders of the wooden chair from the back and takes the throne. Ghandi sits on the floor and refuses to speak. Jesus sits down to meditate and defend himself from the devil. Socrates decides rather to sit on the electric chair than to wait for the throne. 6 days later Ghandi and Jesus are still meditating and Caesar rules the world.
