Lightning, according to their theology, is just as much likely to hit a church as it is a coven just as sun shines on saints and sinners. In fact, it was because of their belief that lightning could strike anywhere that the advancement in the use of air terminals contributed to the fire safety of many buildings including saving many lives. So one might say because Christians believed in their teaching that natural phenomenon can “strike” anyone, regardless of personal convictions, that this contributed to the intellectual (and faithful) use of the lightning rod.
