Question:

Sticky Kitchen Floor?!?

My kitchen floor is always sticky no matter how many times I mop it with vinegar, Ive used the Swifter wet floor mop and ever since my floor is super huber sticky! Why is it in the commercial they have a baby crawling on the floor????????????????????? saying its safe for babies?? NO WAY..how can I remove the stickiness? Ive tried Javel and Vinegar

Answer:

you might be using too much vinegar....swiffer wet has ALWAYS left my floor sticky....I usually go over the floor with a little bit of plain cleaner and water (like lysol, pine-sol, mr clean, etc) and then after that I go back over it with HOT water and bleach. Make sure you are rinsing your mop after every use (and also remember a little bit of cleaning product goes a LONG way) because you may have some buildup in your mop that is causing the stickiness.

Try mopping with hot water and Dawn, but be sure to rinse it with clear water or it could still be sticky. You might want to rinse it a couple of times and maybe even skate around the kitchen on a couple of old towels to dry it and get any left over residue off the floor.
Cleaning Sticky Floors
I clean houses and offices. The solution is too thick. Whatever you mop floors with it needs to be diluted with water or the solution will be to thick and when it dries it will be sticky. I notice going into a local fast food place the floors are sticky the cleaner they use needs to be diluted more with water......................... To remove the stickiness you need to just use warm water to get the build up of the solution off the floor.
