Question:

What is the optimum tire pressure for a 2005 mustang?

Tires:BF Goodridge Thanks!

Answer:

There is no such thing as an optimum tire pressure on the street because of the optible tp is different for everything (air temp road temp load etc) if you look in the drivers door it has the tp recommended for the mustang. Having said that if you want to find the perfect tp for your car do one of the following find a level section of pavement (Parking lot driveway) and A)wet it down lightly and drvie slowly thruthe water get out and look at the tread pattern if it is not even all the way across your tp is off B) take a piece of kids chaulk and rub it side ways across the tread and roll the call forward 5-6 feet and look if the chaulk is worn off even the tp is right more on the outside rubbed off too low more in the middle rubbed too high --these will make sure that the load on the tire(based on the weight) matches what the car actually is doing
Look on the side of the tire the maximum pressure wil be there, fill to within 5 pounds of the max. do not go by the sticker inside the door jamb thats the car manufactures suggestion, but they didnt make the tire and all tires have different max pressures, so you go by what the tire says.
