Question:

Well... where can I get another Antique chair like this?

My Aunty and Uncle were an oddball couple... always going to fancy dress parties in the most outrageous costumes... but they had an old leather chair.. but now that I know what it is... and how best to use it... I want one just like it. Does anyone know if you can still get them or will I have to get it custom made:It's a low wide leather chair with long arms.. the arms are very long... they extend out so that you can rest one foot on each side and still grip for all you are worth to the handles with your hands. Apparently they don't use these stylish chairs any more in gynochologist's offices.

Answer:

Thought this might still be useful esp for others who are also looking for the same stuff. Here's what I can say on this: Looking for a leather armchair that looks old-fashioned, and at the same time, has the kind of usage you are thinking about (the term “gynaecologist” was kind of a dead giveaway) can be rather difficult, and may require you to go to a custom furniture maker. This can be a somewhat embarrassing ordeal, if the design you showed is any indication of what the chair is to be used for. There are websites however, that do have similar looking seats, although not with arms as long as you pictured. There are chairs that are old fashioned looking, and there are chairs that have relatively long arms, as you depicted in your sketch, but for an old-fashioned looking chair with arms that long, some modifications may have to be made if you purchase a ready-made one from any of the online stores you search through. There are some that may be worth looking into, like this traditional looking button armchair with red leather upholstery and leather padded arm rests. You can have a local furniture maker alter the seat’s arms to get these to be as long as you want them to be, and to have them pad these with the same colored leather as the seat, to give you what you want.

Probably one of the best things to do is be up and front about it. Tell her that you broke the chair. She might get angry, but she'll be glad that you told her now and that SHE didn't find it broken (or maybe just angry; i don't know your mom). You will probably still get in trouble anyways, but it's better to be up and front and telling the truth. I sometimes do bad stuff, and I'm up front about it. I do get grounded, as well. So you should just tell her. (before SHE finds it and is more angry that it sat broken for awhile.) Good luck (v '_' v)
Well, I love antiques, but the arms on the love lounge chair might be too long for what I think your planning to use it for. You really don't need the arms on the chair, unless your planning to eat and watch tv on it, among other things. A grandpa chair would be best for that, unless your willing to spend some monies on the antique. If you want an old leather chair, just go to the nudist beach and look for the walruses................but if you insist on leather I can always wear some for you. I'm not an old antique, but I CAN BE YOUR CHAIR!!!!! If not, try the beauty salons where the old ladies get their hair done. They've got some great recliners!!!!
