what are the perks of installing a cold air intake ?
its really easy if you buy a kit made for your vehicle. If you want, you can create your own cold-air intake system, but you need to find a location for the filter to receive cold air, and you need to make sure all sensors and vacuum hoses on the OEM system are reinstalled on the cold-air system. It will give your car more power and a deeper sound when accelerating
don't take this the wrong way, but if you have to ask then that means you have no idea what is entailed in doing this. i highly recommend taking it to someone who can do this or at least can give you a price to do it!
Hence the name, a cold air intake allows cooler air to enter the cylinders. The colder air is the more dense air is, and the more air that goes into your cylinder, the more efficient your car can burn fuel/more power. They can also increase fuel economy, but that depends on your driving style. As far as the amount it helps, it depends on how efficient the factory intake was. Sometime it's a huge difference and sometimes it makes very little.
