Question:

What companies deliver sofas which aren't self assembly, my partner and I are disabled?

My partner bought a sofa from Argos delivered today, it is self assembly, he has now hurt his back trying to take the packaging off and assemble it. What companies deliver goods and assemble for the client, its unfair that disabled and the elderly do this? Would there be an extra charge

Answer:

Most department stores and furniture stores will take care of this for you.
I bought a sofa from jennifer convertibles and they delivered unpacked and assembled for me . there is always a delivery fee, ours was like $75 dollars
This is a new one on me...any couch I have ever bought was assembled in a furniture factory and delevered by the company I bought it from...nothing self assembled!
Any furniture store that is not touted as knock down furniture arrives fully assembled. I actually have never heard of having to put a sofa together and I worked the business for years. Knock down furniture is, of course, much cheaper. Delivery fees depend on the furniture store. Some have a free radius. It's always best to ask your sales consultant before making puchases. Just a side note. Good furniture is built in the factory locations and shipped to the stores completed. It can take anywhere from one month to 4 months depending on the piece.
