Conviction-free and accident-free are two totally different things. If you weren't convicted of anything, you're still conviction free. You'd know if you were convicted, because you would have been issued a ticket and been found / pled guilty. Backing into a hydrant is an at fault accident. But if you weren't charged with anything, you can't be convicted.
