Question:

What is the name of the building in France with the glass pyramid in front of it?

What is the name of the building in France with the glass pyramid in front of it?

Answer:

The Louvre Museum. That glass pyramid was designed by I.M. Pei., by the way.
The Louvre
Le Louvre. What is interesting about that pyramid is that it is the exit to the museum. Once you go up the stairs, you cannot go back in. So you come up through the floor of the pyramid. It's beautiful to see from below as well as from the outside.
It's Le Louvre in Paris which holds some of the most incredible ancient art treasures in France. Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa is there, (along with several other outstanding Leonardo paintings), Botticelli frescoes and other Italian and Flemish masterworks, the armless Greek statue Venus de Milo, the headless classical female figure Victory (aka Nike....NOT the sport shoe!), Michelangelo's marble statue Captive Slave.... The glass pyramid was designed by Japanese architect I.M. Pei and was the source of controversy when first constructed. People thought it was too modern for the classical former military academy Louvre. (The same reaction greeted the nearby modern art museum the Pompidou Center.) Both are major tourist attractions!
That would be The Louvre, very famous building. By the way, it was designed by I.M. Pei, the same guy that designed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame glass pyramid in Cleveland, Ohio.
