Question:

What Is Wrong With My Air Suspension System? 1988 Lincoln?

I have a 1988 linlocn Mark vii, bliss blas edition. i hear the compresser vibrating, but the front left side is leaning ans sagging. it wont go as high as the other three sides. When i first got the vehicle i raised the car without pressing the off button for the suspension in the back. i tried turning it off and driving at the same time but it just made that side drop all the way to the point where it was touching the tire. i have 2 extra struts, but im not sure if they are broke,. they were in the trunk when i bought it. somones please help. and also should i raise my sensors?? if so how would i do that?

Answer:

the air suspentions in most of the lincoln are crap they go bad and quit working or quit working proplery!!! sounds like your air shocks are bad. replace all 4 not just one at a time!!! also check for kinks or leaks in the air lines!!!
do not restoration the air suspension convert it over to universal coil springs. the fee and issues with the air isn't nicely worth it you restoration the issue now and quickly some thing else with the air equipment will fail and it is going on and on .
sounds like just the left front air bag is bad. replace just the one not all 4 if they are not bad. once you have the bag replaced turn the switch on while the car is on level ground get in it close all doors and trunk start the car and let it air up the new bag and it will automatically adjust the other 3 bags and make the car level.
