OK first the potato: raw potato isn't good for hamsters its poisonouscooked isentnow the diarrhea: the most common cause of diarrhea in a hammy is a sudden change of diet or the feeding of too much soft foodsthe droppings are watery, soft and light in color, and the hamster may be wet or messy around his bottomA hammy with diarrhea should be given a dry diet only along with fresh water, if not recovered within a day or two, its wise to seek a vets advice because the diarrhea could be a symptom of something more seriousbut since it was only a tiny bit they should be ok and the diarrhea should clear upGood luck ]
(1) Cabbage and potatoes Make boiled potatoes as per usualCut up and add the cabbage in the last 5 minutes of boilingDrainPour a bit of melted butter over and toss(2) Mashed potatoes, mashed without additionsThen mash in a bit of butter, some cream cheese sour cream, and onion salt and pepperPut into a casserole dish, dot with butter and sprinkle with grated parmesanBake, covered, for about 30 minutes at about 375FIt is so tasty, most people don't even add butter or gravy (well, it's got all that fat in it and fat always tastes good)This also freezes well, freeze before baking (this is from the original Best of Bridge recipe book) (3) Shepherd's PieFreeze it before baking.
I also buy large amounts of potatoes when on saleI will usually bake 8-10 and have as baked for the first mealThe next day I will make home fries with eggs for breakfastSometimes I will make a baked potato soup (delicious)Then I make potato salad or mashed potsfor dinnerThe potato is so versatile, you can do just about anything with itI also like to make scalloped with the baked, as it doesn't take so long in the ovenHope this helps you.
