Question:

Why do Americans refuse to adopt the Metric system?

The United States is the only country that doesn't use the metric system. Except for the Dollar, which has it. 100 cents equals one dollar. Why do Americans find the metric sytem too difficult to learn? Everybody can count from 1 to 100. Or not?

Answer:

I believe it means to allow the flames to extinguish leaving only roaring hot coals. The hot coals will burn all night.
No violation likely. Not all alarms are required to be monitored; certainly monitored alarms provide an added safety feature (particularly after-hours when the building is empty and nobody will notice the alarm anyway), but typically these are more expensive to operate. A lot depends upon local ordinances and requirements and factors such as the type of business, type of construction, and the number of employees, etc. You can call your local fire department and ask them this exact question. If you know that your office alarm is not monitored, now you should take action to drill regularly and remind all other employees to call 911 (along with the evacuation) in the event of an alarm activation. Nice question.
