why does my dryer make?

realy loud noises all of a suddenit sounded like someone was trying to break in by banging really hard on a door but it was just the dryer.has this ever happend to anyone and did you ever find out why?

Answer:

oh it happens sometimes its because there are too many clothes in the dryer or if some object was left in a pocket, it starts hitting against the walls of the dryer
some dryers have two pads or rollers in the front that they rotate on if they are damage it will cause the drum to thump you will have to check to make sure they are ok.
There are several types of suspension systems used in dryers, usually this is not unique to either a gas or electric unit. The drum suspension is a separate issue from heating and can cause much noise if the parts go bad. Kenmore units use a system of rollers and felt seals to allow their drums to rotate quite quietly, Maytag uses some rollers and some teflon slide strips for the suspension of the front of the drum. Their air blower wheels, as mentioned in one other answer, frequently come loose and rattle something awful. It pretty much depends on what you have what the problem is or could be.
