I would not recommend it for indoor cookingIf you are going to cook the dish out side on a open grill then you can use Aluminum foil and wrap up all the food tightly and put it on the grill.- put other wise you need a baking pan if you are going to put it in to the stove to bake.
I've done it before because I needed a shape that my pan didn't haveI didn't put any aluminum foil though, just smeared the glass sides and bottom with butter and dust it with either flour or plain bread crumbsI didn't change the temperature or time and the cheesecake I did this way as well as other cakes came out just fineHappy baking!

As I understand it electrons in a metal are delocalised and free to moveHowever this is surely only the case with the electrons in each atom's outer shellFor example Aluminium has 2 inner shells and 3 electrons in it's outmost shellThe inner 10 electrons are magneticlly fixed in place around the nucleus and so they will not carry a current - only the outer 3 will be free to move.
