Question:

Will a cold air intake do anything to my 2011 Toyota Corolla?

I ordered a 69 series kn cold air intake and was wondering if it was going to do anything to my car besides make it sound a little better. Before you say anything, I got it for $40 so even if it doesn‘t do anything, I still would of got it. I know its a Corolla and I know its not a sports car so please don‘t annoy me with your answers. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Turn off the wipers and let them park, leave them where they are up too far then remove the arms and reposition them to where they should be.

No - the cold air intake that came stock on your car is better in almost every way, especially in fuel economy in cold weather. Aftermarket cold air intakes are relics of the 1960s and 1970s when cars drew hot air from above the engine compartment. Really - what are the chances that a cheap piece of junk like a KN is better then the one Toyota spent millions of dollars designing for your car? The only good news about them is that except for the intakes that can suck up water and destroy the engine they don't hurt anything except your wallet and the ears of people around you. Noisy cars are just rude.
