I will never make the mistake of confusing you with an optimist. Change comes to America when the majority of people decide that it makes sense to change. You may think the second amendment will get repealed because of politicians. I believe the second amendment will never get repealed because of Americans who aren't politicians. Another mistake you are making is blaming Latinos for certain states changing colors. For one thing, not all Latinos are liberals or democrats. Another thing is that the democrats might run out of ways to pander to voters. Politicians pander to voters, and they lie. Maybe having laws making it illegal for politicians to lie would help.

I install alarm systems and have tried to use Magic Jack a few times and it never worked. You will have to use internet or cellular to monitor your alarm. Your alarm company should be able to upgrade your system to do that and still get rid of your phone line. It may cost you a bit to get the equipment you need but you will still be saving the cost of the land line.
