1988 Lincoln Mark VII Cold Air Intake Question?

So i ordered a 1988 mustang gt cold air intake, comes with everything needed to install, except the part where i add the maf sensor, the lincolns dont have that. i was wondering what i can use instead of that? any intake tubing? what length? i know that it is all aluminum, and is 3‘ of pipe width. any body know what the stock mass air flow pipe measurments of a 1988 mustang gt 302 HO is? like the width and length?

my advice is to send this cold air intake back, with a v8 you may notice some change, (mostly you will hear your car suck air now, your car had a factory cold air kit already, if you notice any change at all its up in the 3,500 to 5,000 rpm range, and how often do you beat your lincoln in that range? almost never. In addition there may be a computer issue, and if the engine light pops on, it is possible to lean the motor, which will burn it up, save your money, sooper dooper power chips are another waste of money, some new cars,and mostly diesels, can benefit from chips, the problem is however when you change parameters, the trade off is less durability and longevity ( so you rebuild your engine sooner) yes it seems to be universal, we all want an extra 100 horsepower, but there is a right way to do it, and the cold air intake and power chips are expensive crap, that can damage your motor.
88 mustang gt shouldnt have a maf. they were still speed density until 1989. you probably bought a generic cold air intake for ALL 87-93 mustangs. as for filling in that gapjust go to the plumbing section of lowes or home depot and get a 3 or so black rubber hose to take it up. generally in the drain section by the large pipes. people use these for low buck intercooler couplers as well. might want to think about doing the maf conversion though, car will be much more responsive to mods as the speed density system does not react well to mods to the engine.
