my 92 chevy cheyenne auto transmission shifts hard into first gear when not warmed up drive it after awhile and it shifts fine even shifts hard out of park why is it doin that?
You can start by taking it and having the transmission flushed (if its an automatic)
no ! no flushing the transmission or it could clog up the valve body ! just drop the transmission pan and change the fluid and filter ! the reason it shifts hard when cold is the transmissioon filter is starting to clog up and after you drive it for awhile then it washes away the dirt and starts to shift better ! don,t ever flush the transmission ! go to auto zone or advance and pick up a pan gasket, a transmission filter and about 6 or 7 quarts of fluid and change the fluid and filter !
