someone does not like Toyota's
We have owned a lot Toyotas from brand new and only experienced transmission problems on one: our first 1980 Toyota Corolla station wagon with 150,000 miles. Transmission overhaul by a reputable and quality transmission shop can be pricey and warranty is like 12 months that after that single experience, how I have went about attempting to prolong the life of a good running Toyota with high mileage over 150,000 miles is simply paying the few extra buck$ and draining the ATF every 12,500 miles or every 3 oil changes meaning twice as frequently rather than the normal 25K to 30K. On 2nd thought maybe I guess I only practiced this on a 1987 Corolla LE that had 150,000 miles bec our oldest son after graduating from college and passing all 4 parts of CPA exam in 2 tries insisted on selling it as his reward was a new Mazda Miata convertible to attract the chicks. and we ended up selling the Miata back to the dealer when he moved overseas to Europe where he is doing well as a self employed Java guru for a French Investment Banker in London UK and now drives BMW X5 SUV We have since owned 5 other Toyotas and one 1993 Camry LE have 211,000 miles (by the way I was wrong as I continued only every 25K ATF on the Camry) when my wife and her sisters a few yaers ago insisted on SUVs before gasoline went sky high and she now drives 2005 Toyota Highander 6 cylinder AWD. Yes, I use Mobil One synthetic 5W-30 oil bought on sale from Costsco on the 1998 Toyota Sienna XLE minivan with 128,000 miles only as a precaution bec the earlier Siennas supposedly had sludge problems. Hope the Above Info Helps!
