Question:

1997 honda accord transmission?

does a honda accord have a transmission oil pan . with a filter to change

Answer:

The automatics do the manuals don't, make sure you check the owners manual for the correct type of transmission fluid.
you can only drain and fill the transmission on any honda vehicle, you can put a filter inline or there could be one already installed, it should be in the return side of the transmission cooling hoses.
I hate to be rude to the other answers but they are both wrong. There has never been a Honda that had a transmission pan. There is a two part case that separates when you take the trans out. there is a filter internally but it is only a screen. All Honda's are a simple drain and fill transmission. So if you are going to buy a filter kit, don't, all you have to do is drain it and then refill it. there is a 17mm bolt on the top of the trans that allows you to refill it. the drain is a simple 3/8 ratchet. hope this answers your question sufficiently
