Question:

1998 Acura integra needs new wheel bearings?

I went to a Kal-tire and the service technician told me I needed new front wheel bearings. I asked him to do the part look up and told me it was a sealed assembly part with the hub and it would cost 714 dollars for both Hubs. Does this seem valid? I looked up on some parts websites and I was able to buy just the wheel bearings and this was a lot cheaper. any opinions?

Answer:

Hi check out ,,,,PC. Primechoiceautoparts. And get a second opinion
does that include the labor too ?
Of course it was cheaper. All you did was buy some low-quality aftermarket bearings. Have you put them in yet? Do you have a 20-ton shop press in your garage so that when you remove the entire knuckle assembly and put it in the press to remove the old bearings and press on the new? I didn't think so. The shop does and has people with the skills and experience to do the job. That costs money. Also, that quote is almost certainly for new Hubs and Bearings (I always recommend doing both at the same time so you don't do the same job twice) and don't use the cheap DIY'er parts you find on the internet.
