Question:

200 - 199 + 198 - 197 + - 2 + 1 ) 12 or 21 where do I have to give the left bracket?

i have a example from math, and i don't know, where has to be the left bracket . please help!

Answer:

200 - 199 + 198 - 197 + - 2 + 1 it can be written as (200-199) + (198-197) + (196-195) + .+(4-3) + (2-1) since we will get a value 1 from each bracket containing 2 terms in each, it means there shall be 100 such brackets containing the entire terms. however, the net value is neither 12 or 21 but is actually 100. -------------------------------------- to get a value 21, there should have been only 42 terms 24 terms if the net value is 12. so, for 21, it should end after 42. i.e 42-41+40-39+.+4-3+2-1
