Question:

2000 corolla cold air intake?

I added a cold air ntake to my 2000 corolla, started the car when finished and it ran for 10 sec. and stalls/ dies out. what could the problem be?

Answer:

well did you notice all that stuff in your way that went over to the inner fender? that was your factory cold air intake. That crap they sell and call cold air intakes have been proven not to do what manufacturer claims, in fact many people put one on, then something messes up, and an engine light pops on, or the car does not work right and then they ask her. Those cold air intakes do almost nothing on a stock motor. They are designed to run at wot or wide open throttle, well since that does not work around town, it is pretty useless. In the future, call your mechanic before installing any supposed bolt on crap. and do not buy any of those power chips, they are worthless as well. Anything you do to make a stock engine run harder, will help blow it up sooner. Take that thing off, put you cold air filter from the factory back on and take the thing back and tell them it did not fit. but check with your mechanic before doing any more upgrades.
I see that someone gave Roger a thumbs down so i gave him a thumbs up. A cold air intake does very little for most cars in terms of power. Your issue is common on many cars. Take Rogers advice and return it. If you want to keep it, you might be able to get your car to work with the intake but is it worth it for a measly 3 hp if you're lucky?
