Question:

2000 Honda Civic Si transmission?

I have two questions. 1) can anyone inform me of which transmissions can be put into my 2000 Honda Civic Si equipped with a b16a(engine)? I‘m particularly interested in ones equipped with a limited slip differential and dual syncros if possible. Not interested in low quality transmissions. 2) in buying a performance clutch and flywheel package. Is the chassis, the engine, or the transmission that is in relevant corelation as far as compatibility?

Answer:

transmissions that has lsd is the jdm gsr transmission (b18c) usdm and jdm integra type r (b18c/b18c5) jdm civic type r (b16b) jdm civic sir (b16a) or you can buy a transmission with an aftermarket lsd installed
For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/awDkr Forget it. Honda's usually last 175,000 to 200,000 miles before the engine or transmission goes and this car is IN that range. It is worth 500 bucks max since it is going to die soon.
Any B-series transmission will work but if you already have the tranny, I would recommend buying an aftermarket LSD such as a Quaife Limited Slip. You can pick a Quaife up for about $800-900 in comparison to buying a lsd trans for around $1500. I dont quite understand the second question but I assume you are asking if the type of car or engine is what dictates the parts you will need? The engine code is the best way to get the right parts for your needs BUT if the engine or transmission has been swapped then you will need to know the specific part for what you are searching for. Example: If you need a body kit, you can just search under 2000 Civic Si. If the car has the original engine and you need a header, you can still search using 2000 Civic Si OR B16. If the car has a B16 engine but a B18C1 transmission (from an Integra GSR) and you need a limited slip differential, you will look for Integra GSR or B18C1 parts.
