I heard that if up add a supercharger to this car with this trany, that it could blow the transmission.
Depends on your swing and your idea of course management, distance etc. Like some others have said hybrids can help you get extra loft and if you find a degree you like you can just take that and not have the old long irons in your bag that you dreaded using. I've got a hybrid 3 iron and it's worked great. Off the tee off the fairway consistent trajectory and distance. Wouldn't ever go back to long irons unless the PGA banned hybrids which they have no reason to do.
Disagree with z-man.hybrids get you the loft. Pros want the feel of irons. Use a hybrid instead of a 2 thru 4 iron. Just about anything out of a heavy rough requires a hybrid if you're an amatuer.
I think having two hydrid clubs in your set is a good thing. Hydrid clubs are much easier to hit, especially from the rough. I have replaced my 3 and 4 irons with hydrids and I can now get close to or on the green much more often.
Adding a supercharger could potentially blow any transmission. Get yourself a good clutch and you should be OK. I'd be far more worried about the junk 10-bolt rear than the trans.
