Open the tailgate, on the side that the light is out you'll see two screws that have a slot for a screwdriver. Remove the screws and the whole light assy will come loose. Remove the light assy. enough to get to the bulbs on the rear of the light assy. Remove the bulb that is burnt out and replace. Before you replace the assy, have someone push on the brake pedal to check that it works. To replace the assy, there's a slot on the side of the light assy. Slide the slot into place, replaced the screws that you removed, and you should be all set. Good Luck!
