I just bought a lighting system for my 75gallon aquarium. It came with two different lighting systems. A white light, ad a true actnic blue light. How much time should i leave the white light on for? and also the blue light?
wow what a question. it is really up to you some people leave both one for ten h a day. others turn the actinic on in the dusk to simulate well dusk. is this a reef tank or saltwater
i would say leave the light on during the day and blacklight on at night....fish benefit from light and darkness just like we do

Glass tank? you could unquestionably get a minimum of $4 hundred for that setup, something much less could be if issues have been in adverse condition, cracked, etc. ideal case, assume $600 (no scratches or injury, fantastic stand). How I valued (fairly common): Tank: $seventy 5 =$a million a gallon somewhat common for a used seventy 5 gallon glass tank in stable condition, acrylic is extra Stand: $seventy 5 = oftentimes resembling the tank, yet what variety of wood? no longer all stands are equivalent... gentle: $two hundred = uncomplicated, in basic terms offered one for this fairly (40 8 6 strip yet I used it for 3 years yet replaced the bulbs 2 months earlier I offered) clear out: $seventy 5 = if even, filters do no longer carry a lot of a resale value and are oftentimes one extra to deliver interior the customers rather than upload value, it must be properly worth as much as $one hundred or as low as $50 even though if that's in stable condition, broken that's fairly valueless Titanium heater?? those fairly save a resale value, the glass rubbish ones do no longer. it could have 0.5 retail value. So, checklist the products, the years of use, the condition, and what you paid, then ask for the better value and assume something slightly decrease. something below $350 is an insult till you exclude the sunshine or till the tank/stand is in undesirable condition.
The white light is probably a 10K. Both the white and blue lights help to grow plants in freshwater tanks and corals in saltwater tanks. Because they help plants grow, they will also help algae grow, so don't leave them on for too long during the day, maybe no more than 8 hours a day. If you just have regular tropical fish, they certainly don't need light all day long and if you leave the blue light on 24/7 it may disrupt their sleep patterns and will probably give you more algae than you want. On my fish-only tropical tanks, I usually just run the lights if I'm home to watch them, it also saves energy. Good luck, have fun!
