So I recently moved into my new apartment, and I have a pallet bed. Basically, for people who don't know what it is, it's just a mattress placed on wood pallets (we bought the pallets from a hardware store, so it's not like we found them on the side of a road).Well anyway, I was making my bed today, and I knelt on one of the pallets, and it snapped. Like in half. I pulled the broken board away from the pallet so it wouldn't catch and tear the mattress. Is it possible that the plank of wood on the pallet was damaged to begin with, and the slight pressure of my weight on it was all it took to break..? I mean, pallets are strong, right? I know they use them in stores, and they can hold probably hundreds of pounds. I only weigh like 140lbs. Also, should I replace the pallet all together? Or just nail down a new plank where the old one was? Thanks!
should be able to find them for less than $10
