Question:

A couple of knitting questions.?

I'm just starting knitting and have a couple simple (I think) questionsFirst, if I am making a striped scarf, do I have to cut the yarn and weave it in every time I change colors? Also, would it be longer if I used larger needles or smaller- if I made the width the same- like 4 inches wide for example? Thanks!

Answer:

Properly installed insulation performs bestThat said, the higher the r-factor the greater the insulating capacity.
last time i checked 15 was higher than 11
Of courseThat is what the R factor tells you.
Yes, you have to weave the ends in wert time you change colors.unless you want those little stray yarns sticking outI'd recommend starting with a very heavy/bulky weight yarn and larger knitting needlesIt makes a great fluffy scarf, it's easier to see your stitches while you're still learning, and the scarf will grow much faster as you workUsing smaller needles makes the stitches more compact and tight, whereas using larger needles makes them biggerFor example, using a heavy yarn and smaller needles will produce a coarse knit, but using smaller yarn with big needles will look almost like lace.
