I'm 17, and while I'm not a male, I do know what it's like to have raging hormones. The gay part, as long as you're not homophobic, shouldn't bother you. The thing that may need attention is the obvious anger issues and the rape aspect of the videos. A child should never display physical aggression towards their parents, especially when you have every right to go through his phone, as you ARE the parent. I would definitely tell his dad what's going on, because this is something I feel like both of you need to sit down and discuss with him. He's currently sitting in his room embarrassed and humiliated. He's not going to want to talk to you about it. The only time someone has ever walked in on me was my dad. I almost cried. I told my mom. It was ridiculous. But my dad and I never spoke about it, and it never really became an elephant in the room either. This, on the other hand, does warrant a serious discussion, because rape is not something he should be masturbating to (suggest BDSM and domination videos if he likes that kind of thing, but definitely not rape), and he should never physically assault you over something like this.
I have seen simple fabric covered frames used that are surprisingly effective at cutting sound transmission and also reducing bounce-back, (echo), in the room. Usually it is a 1x2 pine rectangular frame cover by an open type fabric, (kind of like a tweed) in a color you like. The frames are then just hung like pictures around the room. The next time you are at your local theater you'll probably note that they use a similar product on the walls. That being said, the booming of a subwoofer is going to penetrate through the entire house and there's nothing you can do about it unless you want to move your viewing room into an underground bomb shelter.
