you.ve probably lost a linkage arm from a broken clip open hood and see if you can see a link arm moving around if so that's problem area
tighten the nut holding the arm to the shaft , usually under a plastic cap that will break off when lifted on the side away from the arm
Inspect the splines on both the wiper arm and the stub coming out of the cowl. I would guess that the wiper arm is the part that is stripped. Replace the entire arm . Use a nylon locking nut to tighten this assembly up and you should be fine. If you just replace the nylon nut it could come loose again at a time when you really need it, so do this the right way.
